Safety & Security Case Studies
Clients that work with or handle controlled substances, pharmaceuticals, evidence, and other high security items must meet DEA Storage standards. Doors must be self-closing and self-locking. Panels must be constructed with not less than 10 gauge steel wire and openings cannot be more than 2 ½” across the square. Posts must be steel and placed no more than 10 feet apart and have horizontal reinforcement and be no less than 1” in diameter. The enclosure must have a ceiling. The wall panels must mount flush to the floor. 21 CFR 1301.72 schedules 3 through 5 govern high security storage space.
